Alberta Fawcett, 93, of Bath, Ohio, died June 15, 2022. Alberta was born to Eldon and Lelah Ramga in Wapakoneta, Ohio.
Alberta attended Bowling Green State University where she met the Love of her life, Robert Fawcett. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education in 1950. She taught 2nd grade in Michigan for a few years when she decided to dedicate her time to raising her children.
Alberta was an active member of the Grandview United Methodist Church, and served the communities she was a part of. She taught her family the importance of giving back and volunteering time to better the lives of those around her. Alberta was PTA President at the various schools her children attended, President of the Blossom Music Center Women’s Auxiliary, was active in Bath Volunteers and Iradale Garden Club.
She loved music, reading, travel with Robert and especially with their close friends Rev James and MaryLee Wolf, nature, watching the stock market, and most importantly, spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Dr. Robert Fawcett; parents, Eldon and Lelah Ramga; brother, Ernest; and her son, John. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Eric) Peckins; son, David (Lynn) Fawcett; daughter-in-law, Judith Fawcett-Au; grandchildren, Kristina (Danny), Melissa (Jedidiah), Jennifer (Sammy), Shana (Jason), Sarah (Jonathon), Robert (Sarah), Matthew (Cameo); eight great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; special friend, Mary Carr, and many loving friends.
Friends may call Wednesday, June 22, 2022, 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221 and one hour before the service at the Grandview United Methodist Church, 2315 Phelps Ave., Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223. Service will be held Thursday June 23 at 11 am., with Pastor David Hull-Frye officiating. Internment follows at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
