CUYAHOGA FALLS - Alfred "Call Me Fred" Victor Neusser, 96, passed away September 12, 2016.
Mr. Neusser was born in Vienna, Austria and emigrated with his family at an early age to New York City. Fred grew up in New York City and graduated from the City College of New York. He married Evelyn (Day) and moved to Ohio to work at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, then Sun Rubber Company, and finally the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company as an auditor. He was a steam train railroad buff, serving as treasurer the Midwest Railway Preservation Society and as a volunteer with the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls.
He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Evelyn; children, James (Pamela) Neusser of Medina, Marjorie Hess of Cuyahoga Falls and Barbara Thompson of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Judy), Christopher (Michele), Blair, Kristina (Scott), Rebecca (Darrell), William and eight great-grandchildren. Special thanks to cousin Douglas Capehart for his loving care and support.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 16th in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls where friends may call from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service. Rev. Dr. John Schluep officiating. Final resting place Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 525 N. Broad St, Canfield, OH 44406 or the American Heart Association, 15120 Collections Center Dr., Chicago, IL 60693. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
