CUYAHOGA FALLS – Alice F. Baker, 86, passed away July 25, 2018. She was born in Summerset, PA and moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 1945. Alice was a 1949 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School.
Alice raised her family in Cuyahoga Falls, before moving to Hudson. She worked in retail and later was a bookkeeper. Her most enjoyable job was working with her son John in the early days of John’s Tree Services and Landscaping.
Alice was a member of the Eagles 2207 and the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed making the family’s clothing. She frequently volunteered with the Lions Club of Cuyahoga Falls where she made many lifelong friends.
Alice travelled extensively with her children after her husband, Syd, retired. She enjoyed time in Australia, Europe and Hawaii. In 2016, Alice moved to Arizona to spend more time with family and to enjoy the warm sunshine. Alice made many new friends and was loved everywhere she travelled.
Preceded in death by her husband, Syd; she is survived by her children, John (Glenda), Lynn (Harvey) Plummer and Valorie Baker Duncan; grandchildren, Adrianne (Chris) Nielsen and Bryan Duncan; great-grandchildren, Caylah and Caine Morrow.
Cremation has taken place and the family will be having private services. In lieu of other remembrances memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Organization or your favorite charity.
