Alice Yavor

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Alice Marie Yavor (Pietraszewski), born November 12, 1928 in Bisbee, AZ, died August 30, 2017 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; husband, George Yavor; sisters-and brothers-in-law, Annie and Tom Martin, Irene and Paul Durrett, John and Sarah Javor, Tom and Julie Javor, Anka and Judy Zetazlo, Mary Javor, Steve Javor, Joseph Javor, Mike Javor; brother, Ray Pietraszewski; niece, Diane Durrett; and nephew, Bobby Martin.

She is survived by daughter, Charlotte (Bob) Sallaz; granddaughters, Chantelle (Jay) Nye and Kristin (Greg) Schmitt; great-grandchildren, L. Cpl. Jake Nye, USMC, Max Nye, Brendan Schmitt and Brooke Schmitt; sisters-in-law, Marge Javor and Zora Javor,; special nieces Paulette Hardy, Cathy Gojkovich, and Debbie Hintz, along with many nieces and nephews with their respective families.

Alice was a loving mother, sister, wife, aunt, grandma, and friend to all. She was a 77-year member of SNPJ, a 73-year member of St. Patrick's Church in Bisbee, AZ, and a 15-year member of IHM Church in Cuyahoga Falls, as well as the Munroe Falls Garden Club.

A special thank you to her caregivers at Bath Creek Nursing Home and her Summa Hospice staff along with the Hispanic neighbor lady who saved her life after ingesting chinaberries at age 5.

A Funeral Mass will be held at IHM Church 1905 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223 at 11:00 AM, Saturday, September 2, 2017. Friends may call one hour before mass at the church.
Memorials may be sent to IHM Ministry of the Needy c/o IHM Church. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
