Andrew A. McKinnon "The Ol'Beekeeper"
SILVER LAKE - Andrew A. McKinnon, 84, passed away peacefully January 31st after a short illness. He was Dad, Granddad, and Husband. His wife and favorite fishing partner of 60 years, Marjean, passing before him.
Andrew was the Assistant Service Director for the City of Cuyahoga Falls for many years prior to founding the McKinnon Printing Company in 1969. In his retirement, many knew him as their supplier of honey from his self-taught hobby of beekeeping. He was an active member of area Beekeepers' Associations and was also a WWII veteran serving in the Pacific Theater in the Army Air Corps.
Andrew was preceded in death by parents William McKinnon, Ina and Tom Russell. He is survived by loving children William (Carol Conrad), Timothy (Beth), and Carla in addition to grandchildren Laurie (Jeremy) Funk and Matthew McKinnon. He is also survived by sisters Sheila Reeder, Margaret (Richard) Kerek and many nieces and nephews.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Dr. Richard A. Hasler officiating.
