Annamaye Solter

CUYAHOGA FALLS -Annamaye A. Solter, 86, was welcomed into the arms of our Heavenly Father on August 15, 2013. Annamaye was born in Weirton, WV and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls since 1959. She had been a school teacher in the Weirton, Steubenville, Kenston and Tallmadge School Systems for 19 years and was a member of St. Joseph's and Immaculate Heart of Mary Parishes where she sang in the choirs and taught PSR-CCD. She was a member of the Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education for 16 years. She was a member of the Board of Zoning Appeals and precinct committee person for the City of Cuyahoga Falls. Always putting children first, Annamaye was very active toward legislating for a better method of funding schools.

Preceded in death by her husband, Charles and surrogate sister, Edna Lorrayne Serra, she is survived by her son, Marc (Tammy) Stanic of FL.; daughters, Meta Lorrayne Solter of Cuyahoga Falls and Joy Ann Solter of Akron; sister, Noradell Lyons of WV: grandsons, Todd J. (Lynnell) Guthrie of IN and Troy J. Stanic of FL and 5 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Monday, August 19 at The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 Tuesday, August 20 at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Cuyahoga Falls. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Haven of Rest Ministries, St. Jude's Research Center or Good Neighbors of Cuyahoga Falls.
