Barbara Thomas

CUYAHOGA FALLS -Barbara J. Thomas, 75, passed to Heaven October 29, 2009. Mrs. Thomas was born in Cuyahoga Falls where she had resided her entire life, graduating from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1953. She loved her monthly luncheons with her high school buddies. She retired from Daily Monument having worked in the drafting department, had previously worked for Ohio Bell and was a member of the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls. She loved visiting with her wonderful neighbors who always looked out for her. She also loved vacations to Myrtle Beach with her Family, cheering on her grandchildren in their sporting events and working in the yard. She loved her yearly trips to Florida with her cousins and sister.

Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joseph in 1998 who passed away after 42 years of marriage, parents, William and Margaret McGinty and brother, William McGinty, she is survived by her son Russell W. of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter and son-in-law, Julia and Frank DeSimone of Munroe Falls; grandchildren, Katie Renee and Meghan Ann Thomas, Frank Joseph DeSimone and Joseph Santino DeSimone; brothers, Richard P. (Barbara) McGinty and Robert (Janice) McGinty, sister, Norma (Bob) Dailey and many nieces, nephews, other extended family and friends.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Monday, Rev. Gail Lindsey officiating. Interment Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.
