Beecher Tandy

STOW -Beecher E. Tandy, 79, died at his residence February 8, 2007 surrounded by his family. Mr. Tandy was born in Zanesville and had resided in Stow since 1992 and previously in Cuyahoga Falls since 1963. He retired in 1993 from Highway Asphalt as a truck driver and was a member of Holy Family in Stow. He had served with the U. S. Navy at US NTC Camp Perry, VA and US SUB BASE Balboa, Canal Zone and received the WWII Victory Medal and the American Area Campaign Medal.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathleen; children, Daniel (Dalene) of Melborne, FL, Paul, Patricia Burgess and Marvin (Diane Miller), all of Cuyahoga Falls, Jean Songwinds of Pamplico, SC and Stephen (Anna) of Munroe Falls; grandchildren, Jasyn (Kara), Loren and Megan Tandy, Julia, Brandon and Bradley Burgess and Kelly Songwinds and sister, Sophie Bates of Dresden, OH.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Monday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10:00 am Tuesday in Holy Family Catholic Church. Interment Northampton Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation 1332 North Halsted St. Suite 201 Chicago, IL 60622.
