Betty Vogel

Betty Ann Hergott Vogel, 88, of Akron Oho and Ormond Beach Florida died in Akron, June 28, 2010.

Betty Ann enjoyed quilting, sewing, birds, the outdoors, travel and people. She was born September 15, 1921 in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, moving to Akron in 1956. She is survived by her sons, Jeff (Cathy) Vogel and Denis (Donna) Vogel and grandchildren Samantha, Rick and Karl.
She was preceded in death in 1994 by her husband of 53 years, Frank and her husband of 4 years Emmitt in 2009. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, and past member of Cuyahoga Falls Baptist Church, First Congregational Church, and Grace United Church of Christ. She was active in Woman's fellowship and other circles and taught Sunday School in nursery through primary.

She graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1939 and attended Kent State University. Betty Ann spent many hours volunteering for various organizations in Ohio and Florida including; The Society for Crippled Children, Red Cross, Family Renew, Ormond Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Secret Attic.

She will be remembered by her family and many friends in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, and Ormond Beach as a giving person who invested her time in people and thoroughly enjoyed doing so.
There will be no calling hours. Her Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 2, in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls. Final resting place Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Family Renew Community, 810 Ridgewood, Holly Hill, Florida, 32117.
