Betty Walker

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Betty Walker, 100, passed away peacefully at her residence in Tucson, AZ, on February 24, 2015

Betty was born to Lewis and Christina Seifert in Mineral Ridge, Ohio on October 5, 1914. She resided in Akron and Cuyahoga Falls for more than 60 years before moving to Tucson in 2006. She was trained as a nurse, and worked in doctors' offices in the Akron area for many years. Following retirement, she was active with charitable organizations, particularly the Falls Cancer Club, where she was President from 1965 to 1967. Her service to the Cancer Club was among her proudest accomplishments. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls.

She was preceded in death by her husband, of 64 years, Lawrence H. Walker; by her sons, Larry and Robert; by her sisters, Hazel Hoffman, June Baer, Dorothy Bloomfield, Harriett Gifford, and Lois Russell; and by her brother, Lewis Seifert. She is survived by her son, Paul Walker of Tucson, AZ; granddaughter, Catherine Walker of Tucson, AZ; and by her many nieces and nephews.

Betty lived a wonderfully rich life, made so by the thoughtfulness of her many friends and family members, and by her exceptional spirit of living each day to the fullest.

Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls where a Memorial Service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. the same day. A graveside service for family members will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday March 5 at Kerr Cemetery in Mineral Ridge, Ohio.
