Brett Bates

Brett Bates, 63, passed away unexpectedly on December 25, 2022 in his hometown of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. 

Brett was born on May 14, 1959 and resided in Cuyahoga Falls most of his life.  He was a loving father, brother, son, uncle, and grandfather.  Brett was married to the love of his life, Barbara, for 38 years, as they are now united once again.  Brett loved talking about cars, watching OSU games with his son, going to the casino with his daughter, and having weekly visits and meals with his parents, children, and grandson.  Brett had a great sense of humor, and always loved making others laugh with his impersonations or sounds.  Brett retired from Acme Fresh Market with 45 years of service with the company. 

Brett is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara, sister, Brenda Pennino, and nephew Brian Pennino Jr.  He is survived by his parents Ken and Dorothy Bates; his children Bob Bates, Kenny (Jessica) Bates, Amanda (Joe) Tabeling(Bates);grandson, Benson Bates; great nephews Luca and Cruz Pennino and many extended family members and friends. 

Visitation will be Tuesday January 3, 2023, from 11am to 12pm, with a funeral service to immediately follow at the Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls OH, 44221.
