CUYAHOGA FALLS – Bryan E. (Mac) McCoy, 86, passed away peacefully at home on September 21, 2021 in Medina.
Bryan was born in Akron, Ohio on December 5, 1934, to Hall and Marion McCoy. He grew up in Kenmore and was a proud Kenmore Cardinal. He graduated in 1952 and served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He attended Akron University studying Civil Engineering and went on to become a Licensed Professional Engineer and Professional Surveyor.
During his career Bryan was employed by consulting engineering firms based in Akron, Cleveland and Chicago. In 1985 he founded McCoy Associates, Inc., with offices in Akron and Warren, Ohio, Nashville, Tennessee and Dover, Delaware. He retired in 2008.
Bryan met the love of his life, Barbara, at a dance in October 1955 and they were married on August 4, 1956 at First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls. Throughout their wonderful marriage he enjoyed golfing, fishing, martinis on Granger Lake in his paddle boat, visiting National Parks, cruising and annual trips to the beach with his family.
Surviving Bryan are Barbara, his wife of 65 years, son, Mitchell (Lynn), daughter, Mona Mesereau (Tom), daughter, Judith Ulrey (Brian), grandchildren, Sarah (Brad), Phillip, Jacob (Rachel), Michael, Mariah, Lucas and Lian, great-grandchildren, Mindy and Hugh.
Bryan is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert and Ronald, sister, Doris.
Visitation will be Monday, September 27, 2021, at First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls, 245 Portage Trail, 10 a.m.-12p.m. with service immediately following. Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
