Carl Simone

CUYAHOGA FALLS -Carl J. Simone, 87, passed away March 27, 2008. Mr. Simone was born in Akron and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls the past 53 years. He retired in 1984 from Portage Machine Shop with 42 years service as a machinist, foreman and estimator. He was a member of St. Eugene's Catholic Church where he counted offering for many years and was a Veteran of WW2 having served with the U. S. Navy aboard the USS Haven as a Pharmacist's mate 1/C. He enjoyed golfing and bowling with the Portage Machine Leagues and loved Wahoos Square dancing and camping.

Mr. Simone is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irene M; sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Judy of Mogadore, Dan and Sherry of Cocoa, FL, Rick and Janet of Kent and Bob and Pam of Akron; 13 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Monday in St. Eugene's.
