CAROL ELIZABETH STRECKER, 64, of Cuyahoga Falls, received her angel wings very unexpectedly on August 11, 2023. Carol was joyfully greeted at heaven’s gates by her beloved parents, Marilyn C. and Richard E. Strecker, and by her dear grandparents, Kathryn and Leo Carney and Clara and Sam Oborne.
Carol was born in Akron, Ohio on January 20, 1959. A 1977 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, Carol received her bachelor’s degree in social work from The University of Akron. Carol retired from First Merit Bank after 33 years of service. She had also worked part-time for Sears.
Carol was a long-time, devoted member of St. Joseph Church in Cuyahoga Falls, and she sometimes attended Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
Carol will be dearly missed by her sisters, MaryAnn Vale-Walsh and Kathleen (Thomas) Hemperly; and by her brothers, Richard Strecker Jr. and James (Dawn) Strecker. She will also be lovingly remembered by her nieces, Susan Jane Vale and Tylyn Marie Strecker, and by her nephew Steven (Joy) Vale. Carol also leaves a great-niece, Ashleigh, and a great-nephew, Sam.
Carol’s cousin and neighbor, Theri (Chris) Blanton, will also have happy memories of Carol, as will her cousins Robert (Theresa) Strecker Jr., Mary (Paul) Thibeau and Cathy Ray.
Carol’s good friend, Charles Schlegel, will miss her too, as will many of Carol’s former co-workers. Carol will also be missed by both her old friends and her more recent ones.
Cremation has occurred. There will be a memorial Mass for family at St. Joseph Church. Carol’s final resting place will be with her parents (and grandparents) at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls.
Carol’s family knows that Carol would very much appreciate any donations in her name to either St. Joseph Church or Immaculate Heart of Mary Church; both parishes are in Cuyahoga Falls.
Rest in peace, dear Carol, you brought joy to so many!
