CUYAHOGA FALLS -Carrie "Nubby" E. Brillhart, 95, passed away October 18, 2016. Carrie's life journey began October 27, 1920 in Isletta, Ohio, as the youngest daughter of Ernest and Grace Begert. Carrie moved to Akron when she was four and grew up in North Hill where she developed lots of lifelong friends. She graduated from North High School and then earned her degree as a cosmetologist. A few years later she became a telephone operator with Ohio Bell where she also enjoyed many lifelong friends.
Carrie met the love of her life, Jack Brillhart, and they married June 24, 1950. Jack and Carrie moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 1961 where they resided for the rest of their lives.
The core value of Carrie's life was to honor the Great Commandments, to Love God and Love One Another. She was always strong in her Faith and enjoyed Living God's Word. She showed genuine love to every living creation. She loved the beauty of the earth and enjoyed discovering and sharing that beauty. Carrie's way of sharing beauty was through her acts of kindness and her flowers. Carrie always grew beautiful gardens of flowers and trees. She referred to her flower gardens as friendship gardens because she obtained most of her plants by sharing them with friends. Carrie was a long time member of the Northampton Hill and Vale Garden Club and of Ikebana International. Carrie attended the First United Church of Christ for many years, where she taught Sunday School. She later joined the Chapel where she enjoyed attending.
Carrie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Jack, her husband of 63 years, proceeded her passing in 2014. Carrie will be dearly missed by her son Michael and daughter-in-law Suzanne, grandchildren Ashley (Chris) Brillhart, Jonathan Brillhart, Stephanie and Sydney. Also surviving is truly devoted friend Shirley Wagner.
Services for Carrie will be private for the family. Pastor Darrell Frazier of the Arlington Church of the Nazarene will be officiating.
