CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charles P. Clifford, 84, passed away suddenly October 1, 2010. Mr. Clifford was born in Akron and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 30 yrs. He attended Stow High School, finishing out his senior year at the Case School of Applied Science before being inducted into the U.S. Army in 1945, graduated from the School of Mines at WVU and retired from the Dept. of Interior, Geological Survey Dept. where he worked 20+ yrs in Wyoming as a petroleum engineer. He was a life member of the NRA and the Western Reserve Cutlery Association. He was also a member of the Portage County Knife Collectors Club, The Mahoning Valley Knife Collectors Association, Case Collectors Club, the Marbles Plus Knife Club, the Kent Elks Lodge and a life member and Past Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge in Thermopolis, WY. His knowledge of knives was extensive.

Preceded in death by his parents Albert M. and Ruth Clifford and sister Amy Kuemmerling. He is survived by his wife Marilyn (Cox, James) Clifford; children Charles Paul (Sharon) Clifford II, Robert E. (Paula) Clifford and Glenn H. Clifford all of Wyoming; Step-children Craig A. James of Brimfield, LouAnn (Brian) Lambert of North Carolina, Todd M. James of Cuyahoga Falls; Sisters Eleanor Seiff and Mary Jane Renick of Canton and 9 grandchildren.

Friends may call from 6-9 on Monday Oct. 4 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St,. Cuyahoga Falls Oh, 44221, where a funeral service will be held 11 AM on Tuesday Oct. 5, Rev. James McKenzie officiating. Interment will be at Northlawn Memorial Gardens immediately following the service. Arrangements handled by Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 330-928-2147.
