Charles Darke

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charles "Fred" Darke, 88, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on July 10, 2016 after battling several health challenges in the latter part of his life. He was born in Phillipsburg, PA and resided in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 54 years. Fred served his country in the U.S.A.F., and retired from Goodyear Aerospace as a Design Draftsman.

Preceded in death by his brothers, Jack (Cleo), Bob (Margaret) and Murray; he is survived by his wife, Emily of 60 years; children, John (Teresa), Kathy (Bernie) Frye, Susan Dark and Trish (Tyler) Buckalew; who blessed him with grandchildren, Michael (Pam) Darke, Laura (Bob) Kruger, Daniel (Riki) Darke, Jason Darke, Tessa Frye-Krissmer, Ian (fiancAC. Danielle Halachoff) Frye, Ariel Frye and Sam Buckalew; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Ryan and Ethan Darke, Anneliese Kruger and Audrey Darke; nephew, Carl (Kathy) Darke and great-niece Nicole and several other nephews.

Fred's greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and many dear friends. He was a true gentleman with a keen sense of humor and a generous soul; who quietly led by example.

A memorial service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday July 23, 2016 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH, 44221. Inurnment will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park.

In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Haven of Rest 175 E. Market St. Akron, OH, 44308 or Hattie Larlham 9772 Diagonal Rd. Mantua, OH, 44255.
