Charles Metzner

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charles E. Metzner, 85, passed away March 9, 2018 at home with family. Chuck was a life-time resident of Cuyahoga Falls, retiring from the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department after 35 years of service. He was a member of FOPA Lodge 49, American Legion Post 281, and the Northampton United Methodist Church. Chuck served in the U.S. Marines. He enjoyed his retirement and the great outdoors. Chuck was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also enjoyed boating and camping, but what he loved most was the time he spent with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife Donna; survived by Evelyn Kessell; children, Tracy (Randy) Shilling, Terry (Susan), Troy (Ellen), Johnny Kessell, several step-children and grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Tuesday, March 13, 2018 and 1 hour prior to the 11 AM funeral service on Wednesday, March 14 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Crossroads Hospice, 3743 Boettler Oaks Dr. Suite E, Uniontown, OH 44685 or the F.O.P. Lodge 49 P.O. Box 72 Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.
