CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charles Malachosky, 93 passed away September 19, 2014.
Mr. Malachosky was born in Akron and graduated from Hower High School. He entered the US Army in 1942 and disembarked on Utah Beach on July 26, 1944, participated in the Normandy, Northern France, the Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe Campaigns. He was presented the French Legion of Honor Medal. He reflected that the most important part of his service was that he met his wife of 69 years, Simone, in Belgium during the war. He moved to Cuyahoga Falls in 1964 and was the Ward 2 representative on Cuyahoga Falls City Council from 1980 to 1994. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Preceded in death by his Son-in-law, Dennis Breiding and great-granddaughter, Lilian Annette Breiding; he is survived by his wife, Simone; daughters, Judy (Robert) Mahoney of CA, Paulette (Anthony) Williams of WV and Annette Breiding of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Michael, Judee Ann, Mark, Malinda, Natalie, Philip and David; great-grandchildren Noah Logan Damien, Denise and Camille and siblings, Julie Remis and Steve Malachosky and many nieces nephews and friends..
Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday September 22 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls. A Funeral Mass will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 23 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 2nd St., Cuyahoga Falls. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. Memorials may be made to Kidney Foundation of Summit County, 1889 Indian Hills Trail.
