Charles Moneypenny, 93, passed away May 2, 2021. He was born at home in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, on August 19, 1927. Upon graduating from North High School, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served on a minesweeper in the Pacific Theater during World War II. After returning from the war, Charles met the love of his life, Amy Lou Baker. They eloped and enjoyed 73 years of marriage. He retired from Reuther Mold & Manufacturing Company after 29 years in 1989.
He is preceded in death by his son, Henry Calvin Moneypenny; mother, Helen Smith Moneypenny; brothers, Larry, Dick and Bill Moneypenny; daughter in law, Jeannie Moneypenny.
He will be missed by his wife, Amy; children, Daniel (Beve) Moneypenny, Hal Moneypenny, Jayne (Ernie) Ashby; sisters, Mary (Don) Albrecht, Carol (Bill) Nelson; grandchildren, Eve Horn, Charles (Lisa) Ashby, Jeremy Moneypenny, Clifford (Stephanie) Ashby, David Wolgamott, Amy Ashby, Chad (Jessica) Ashby, Chaz Moneypenny, Wade Moneypenny, Calvin (Jackie) Moneypenny, Ben (Tori) Moneypenny; great grandchildren, Brittany Williams, Tylor Grice, Cody Horn, Lindsay (Andrew) Sandoval, Jeremy Moneypenny, Nathan Ashby, Logan Wolgamott, Victoria Ashby, Andrew Ashby, Nora Wolgamott, Charli Ashby; and many nieces and nephews.
There will be a family graveside service at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park, 2613 Sackett Avenue, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to the Akron VA Medical Clinic, 55 West Waterloo Rd, Akron, OH 44319.
