Charles Saxer Sr

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charles George Saxer Sr, age 68, of Peninsula died Monday afternoon on December 7th at home with his wife Deloras, five children, and two brothers by his side. Chuck was born on July 1st, 1947 in Cleveland, OH to Charles and Dorothy Saxer (Hambrecht). He was enlisted in the United States Marine Corps from 1966-1969. He was retired from the City of Cuyahoga Falls Street Dept. Chuck enjoyed camping, fishing, hiking and gardening. He was a treasure who was known for his tolerance, quick wit and his humor. He adored his family and was beloved.

He is survived by his loving wife, Deloras; his children, Ron (Virginia) Sparrow; Steve (Chris) Stilley, Charles (Maribeth) Saxer, Devin (Matt) McKinney, and Cory (Christal) Saxer; 18 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; his loving step-mother, Elizabeth Saxer; brothers, Ralph (Karen) Saxer and Gary Saxer and step-siblings Jim Miller, Lauren Miller, and Lisbeth Lanther.

Memorial calling will be held 2 hours prior to a 12 PM memorial service on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the Riverwood Community Chapel 1407 Fairchild Ave. Kent, OH, 44240. Rev. Jonny Norman will be officiating. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
