CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charles "Chic" Shope, 92, passed away August 2, 2009. Mr. Shope was born in Myersdale, PA and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls most of his life. He retired in 1978 as an electrician in the Technical Dept. for the City of Cuyahoga Falls, was a member of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ and a Veteran of WWII having served with the U. S. Army. He was a life member and past master of Star Lodge 187 F&AM and a life member and past commander of American Legion Charles Faust Post 281.

Preceded in death by his wife, Madge, Chic is survived by his loving companion Betty Pal and her family; Andy and Krickett Pal, Andrew David and Sandrine Pal, great-grandson, Dorian Pal and Helen Thacker and his children, Chris O'Connor and Ken Shope.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, Rev. Waymen Carter officiating. Interment Oakwood Cemetery. A Military Service will be conducted by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Falls Firefighters and Community Society, Inc., P.O. Box 1022, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
