CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charles Robert Simes, 82 passed away October 24, 2015 surrounded by his family.
Charles was born in Duncan Wood, Ohio, served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War where he received a Purple Heart. He returned and retired from Ford Walton Hills Stamping Plant and then worked for St. Luke's Lutheran Church, the Falls Eagles, Aerie and served on the Cuyahoga Falls Police Reserves for 13 years. He was a lifetime member of VFW Ralph Huff Post 1062 and loved country music.
Preceded in death by his son, Charles "Danny" Simes, and brother, Jack. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years, Carolyn; son, Robert Simes of Norton; daughters, Becky Simes of Stow and Pamela (David) Hazell of Akron: grandchildren, Holly and Dave Hazel and Kelly and Carley Simes; two great-grandchildren, Emily and Gavin, and brothers Kenneth and William Simes and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, October 28 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls where a procession will form at 10:00 am Thursday, October 29th for an 11:00 am Graveside Service at Oakwood Cemetery, 2420 Oakwood Dr. Cuyahoga Falls, Pastor Jonathan Truax officiating. Military Honors provided by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281.
