CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charles William Solter, 79 years young of Cuyahoga Falls, was called by God to his heavenly home on February 23, 2011. Chuck was preceded in death by his mother, Meta; father, Charles; and brother Robert. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Annamaye; 2 daughters, Meta Lorrayne and Joy Ann; stepson, Marc James Stanic; and beloved nieces and nephews.
"Chuck" loved his home and family very much. He was always hard-working and dependable. Chuck was a great provider, husband and father. We will always respect and love him.
"Chuck" was a very learned man who earned a Bachelor's Degree from Ohio University, then went on to earn a Master's Degree plus "30" from Kent State. Chuck was a U.S. Army veteran, who mustered out as a Captain. He was an educator in Irondale, Kenston, and Nordonia Hills School Systems. Chuck retired from teaching in 1984 after 28 years. After retirement he became a school-crossing guard and continued to assist students.
In addition to the pursuit of knowledge, Chuck enjoyed reading, planes and steam trains. He would even "chase" steam trains in his car from crossing to crossing. He also enjoyed sail boating, walking, horseshoes and talk radio. He especially enjoyed coffee and discussion sessions with his friends.
Our beloved Charles will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is now pain-free and with the "Blessed Trinity". Chuck, while you were here, your little light did shine, shine, shine and will continue to do so.
