Charles Watkins

CUYAHOGA FALLS - Charles E. Watkins (Chick), died June 14, 2014 at the age of 90. He was born November 10, 1923 in Dardanelle, Arkansas. Charles was the son of Francis and Lula Watkins. A veteran of WWII, he served in the Navy. A skilled mechanic throughout his career, he retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.

Chick lived in the Akron and Cuyahoga Falls area before moving to Florida upon his retirement. He returned to Ohio in 2007 and had resided at Cardinal Retirement Village since 2009.

Chick was preceded in death by his wife, Helene, in 1993, brother, James Francis, sister, Joy, daughters, Janet, Jay, Jennifer, son Jeffrey, grandson, Michael, great-grandson, Jack, sons-in-law, Jack and Daniel. He is survived by his daughters Jill Williams (Don), Joy Palone (Jim), son-in-law, Paul Good, 14 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Evelyn Watkins.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th, 11:00 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 2141 5th Street, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Friends may call one hour prior to start of service.
If desired, memorials may be made to the Hospice Care Center on Ridgewood Road 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, OH, 44333. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 330-928-2147.
