Christie Augustine

Christie Augustine, dearest wife, mother, grandmother, cousin and best friend, passed away on November 22, 2021 at the age of 63.

Christie was born on September 11, 1958 in Akron, Ohio, and was a lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls.  She was a 1976 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and went on to work as an Administrative Assistant for BF Goodrich, Akron Board of Education, and the former Green Cross Hospital.  Upon the birth of her children, Christie devoted her life to being the best wife and mom she could be, lovingly caring for her home and always being there for our family.  Christie loved deeply and always put others and animals before herself.  Her kind, generous and compassionate spirit was felt by all, and her love extended especially to animals, and her beloved birds.  She enjoyed being in nature and walking in the local parks, but she cherished  nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and family.  She will be dearly missed, but will live on in all of us.

Christie is now reunited with her mother, Jane Neale; grandmother, Mildred (Neale) Stelzer; aunt, Gretchen Swain; and her adored pet birds, Woody, Avery and Ollie. They will all rejoice at the Rainbow Bridge.

She leaves to cherish her memory, loving husband of 41 years, Bill Augustine; children, Michael Augustine, Robin Tafat (Gary Minorik) and Nicholas (Mary Napoli) Augustine; grandchildren, Alexander and Lily Augustine; best friends, Janet Appeldorn and Kathy Fogarty, and beloved cousin, Al Dawson.

The family will be celebrating Christie’s life privately.  To honor Christie’s love of animals, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Humane Society of Summit County, https://www.summithumane.org/ .
