Christina Marie Hiner (Peters), 66, gained her official angel wings on Monday, October 5, 2021. She joins her son, Adam, above, but is now watching over her husband of 41 years, Gary, her daughter, Lisa (Charlie) Kilbel, and the apple-of-her-eye granddaughter, Addison Gina. Christa was not only an amazing wife, mom, and grandma, but she filled many additional roles: sister, aunt, in-law, friend, mentor, “mom,” and “favorite teacher ever” to name a few. Growing up in North Hill Akron, Chrissy prided herself on her spunk, which she demonstrated up until her last breath. She was so intelligent and hardworking, earning a bachelor’s degree in both Social Work and Education and a master’s degree in Library Science. She was the manager of “Hotel Hiner,” as she never turned anyone away, oftentimes even providing the guests with laundry service, taxi service and lunch money. She was a self-proclaimed “aging hippie”, and “eccentric” doesn’t even begin to describe the fabulous style and accessories Chris sported on the daily. Christa is recognized for her dart game, karaoke, Disney impressions (especially Little Mermaid characters), and her “world famous pasta salad.” Her favorite pastimes included feeding ducks, feeding birds and nature walks, as she appreciated the beauty in all things. She enjoyed shopping trips to anywhere (especially Aldi), porch sitting with the love of her life, Gary, and her puppy, Molly, and everything involving her granddaughter, especially stocking the treasure box, crafts, and playing imaginatively. Mrs. Hiner may be most well-known for positively influencing the lives of so many students and coworkers during her time teaching at Kimpton Middle School in Stow. To list all the accomplishments and qualities that separate Christa from the rest of the world would just be impossible.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, October 11th from 4 to 7pm at Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, located at 1930 Front Street, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Whatever name you knew her as and whatever role she played in your life, Christina left a lasting impression that will forever remain in the hearts of all who ever crossed her path. “Buddies forever.” To view her tribute video, send condolences or sign the guest book visit www.cliffordshoemaker.com
