Clara McElheny

Clara Helen McElheny, 97, died November 17, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband John H. in 1993 after 57 years of marriage and son John C. in 2014. She was born in Akron, Ohio on April 16,1918. Clara attended St. Mary's School for 12 years graduating in 1936. She married John Harold McElheny on November 12, 1936 in St. Mary's Church in Akron and moved to Cuyahoga Falls where they resided until 1975 when John took a job that took them to Aruba, Venezuela, Louisiana, New Jersey and Canada. He retired in 1979 and they returned to Cuyahoga Falls.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Altar and Rosary Society and L.C.B.A. Branch 1504 and the Setons.

She is survived by her daughters Joan (Charles) Stoltz, Punta Gorda, Fl, Bonnie Dohner, Cuyahoga Falls, Patricia (Phillip) Lehnhart and Karen (Skip) Arthurs of Akron; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. She now walks arm in arm with her beloved husband "Mac" touched by the smile of our Lord.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 22, from 2 to 5 pm at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 23 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1761 Second St. Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221. Interment at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Rockynol Assisted Living, 1150 W. Market St. Akron, Ohio 44313. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
