Clare W. Weisel, 96, passed away May 9, 2005. Mr. Weisel was born in Williamsport, PA, graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1928 and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls most of his life. He married Pauline McMillion on October 27, 1936, had worked for Vaughn Machinery as a mechanical engineer for 45 years and was a longtime member the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls where he had served as a deacon and trustee. He had worked in Civil Defense during WW2, was a 61 year member of Star Lodge 187 F&AM, a member of Cuyahoga Falls Eagles 2207 and a member of the Portage Beagle Club. Mr. Weisel had served on Cuyahoga Falls City Council for 11 years, enjoyed hunting and fishing and making his own fly fishing lures and had helped start Little League in Tallmadge and Cuyahoga Falls.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Pauline, parents, Leslie and Elsie Weisel and brother, Pat Weisel, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Don and Nancy of Tallmadge; daughter and son-in-law, Jeannie and Bob Leiter of Peninsula; son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Kathy of Norton; grandchildren, Craig (Tonya) Weisel, Tracy (David) Jelneck, Ray (Jodi) Leiter, Joannie (John) Zita, Karie Sickels, Chip (Tammy) Weisel and Mandy Weisel; 17 great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Dorothy Weisel and nephew, David Weisel, both of Diamond, OH.
The Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 pm Thursday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Friday, Dr. Richard A.
