CUYAHOGA FALLS -Claude C. Atkins, 66, died February 10, 2009 following a long illness. Mr. Atkins was born in Akron and was an area resident his entire life. He served in the U. S. M. C. during the Vietnam War, was an avid pool player for 14 years and played on the Bell music league. He was president of the Falls/Akron Pool League. We would like to thank the members of his pool team "Balls In Hand" for all their caring and help with pool.
We also want to express our sincere thanks to the Doctors and Nurses of the ICU at Cuyahoga Falls General Hospital, especially his nurses Cindy, Deb and Carol. They went over and above to help make Claude comfortable.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Mary Beth; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Sheli; daughter, Corrie Tindel all of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Marissa, Adam, Toni, Kaylee, Colin, Autumn, Sommer and Jesse; cousin, Ed Swigert and many friends and family members.
Friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 8:30 pm Friday, Rev. Eloy Pacheco officiating. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Valley Savings Bank FBO Claude C. Atkins.
