PT. CHARLOTTE, FL -Clayton Glenn Bishoff, Jr., 79, passed away September 24, 2008. Mr. Bishoff was born December 6, 1928 in Rowlesburg, WV, son of Clayton G. Bishoff, Sr. and Mona B. Bishoff. He resided in Port Charlotte since 2000 and in Florida since 1991. He was a Veteran of WWII having served with the U. S. Air Force 8th Weather Squadron in Greenland. He retired in 1991 after 36 years of distinguished service from PPG Automotive and Aerospace Finishes as a Territory Sales Representative, Ditzler Paint Division. He was a life member of VFW Post 7842 and was a 50+ year member of American Legion Post 462 of Linesville, PA , member in the Meridian Sun Lodge #69 F & AM in Richfield, OH and FOE Aerie 3296 in Charlotte Harbor, FL.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Rae Bishoff of Port Charlotte; children, Steve (Barbara) Bishoff of Minneapolis, MN, Peggy Huffman of Linesville, PA, Kevin (Judy) Bishoff of Canton, OH, Rae Brown of Akron, OH, Drew Bishoff of Marysville, OH, Colleen Pfahl of Columbus, OH, Frank (Beth) Pfahl of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Beverly (Randy) Godding of Sagamore Hills, OH, David (Bobbie) Pfahl of Akron, OH; 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; 10 surviving brothers and sisters, Mary (Dale) Thompson, Geneva Schneider, Frank (Shirleen) Bishoff, Bill (Margaret) Bishoff, Buck (Myrtle) Bishoff, David (Tony) Bishoff, Kathy (Steve) Petrus, Richard Bishoff, Duane (Judy) Bishoff and Debbie Bishoff; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother and sister, George Bishoff and Colleen Bishoff
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 4 at 12:00 Noon at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 50 N. Prospect St., Akron OH, Pastor Landis Coffman officiating, and where a Military Service will be conducted by American Legion Charles Faust Post #281, with a Celebration of Life to follow. In lieu of other remembrances, the family requests memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice or to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
