CUYAHOGA FALLS - Clyde C. Shaver, 91, passed away November 25, 2015. Born October 9, 1924 to Cecil and Mildred Shaver, Mr. Shaver resided in several locations in Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, and Stow throughout his life. After attending Stow High School, Clyde joined the Navy in 1942, and after the war was honorably discharged with the rank of Radarman, Third Class.
Clyde Shaver worked many positions, including tire factory worker, salesman, dairy deliveryman, and then postman in Cuyahoga Falls until retirement. He was active in league softball and league bowling, having once bowled a 780 series. He also won an American Kennel Club championship with the beagle Stormy April.
Preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Shaver; survived by several children, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and countless friends.
Military Honors will be conducted at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman on Monday, Dec. 7 at 10:30am. Afterward, a Memorial Service will be conducted at 12:00pm at the Community of Believers Christian Church, 2543 State Rd, Cuyahoga Falls, Pastor Tom Bloom officiating.
