Connie Arbogast

CUYAHOGA FALLS - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Nana, sister, and cherished friend, Connie Arbogast. She peacefully departed this world Tuesday, April 1, 2025 at the age of 82, as it was time for her to rest from her labors of heart and lung disease and come home to God. She is leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories that will forever resonate in our hearts.

Born in Sistersville, West Virginia September 1, 1942 to the late Robert and Ruth Piatt, Connie brought joy and playfulness into the lives of all who knew her.

Connie was a devoted wife whose love and support enriched the lives of her family beyond measure. Her love knew no bounds, and she would tell you that her greatest accomplishment was raising her children. She shared a bond of deep affection with her beloved late husband, Mitchell, who she married July 21, 1962. Their partnership was built on trust, respect, and unwavering devotion. Connie has reunited with her “foxy” husband once again, as he was waiting to meet her on that first, heavenly day.

Connie’s witty sense of humor could make anyone laugh, even in her final days. She loved going to the casino and playing bingo. She loved her dogs and other animals (apparently geese and giraffes being top favorites). She was the perfect Nana and loved her grandchildren, making them her famous chili-mac or sausage, beans, and potatoes with cornbread. She had the gentlest touch, sweetest smile, was welcoming to all, and had the softest, best-looking skin in town which she credited to Dove soap and drugstore lotion.

Forever and always, Connie’s memory will live on by those who survive; daughters, Deborah Fiume and Michelle (Brian) Gizzi; grandchildren, Marissa and Matthew Fiume, Sophia and Nicolas Gizzi; loving brother, Robert (Dixie) Piatt; several nieces and nephews; and Jerry and Jon Fiume, who have long been part of our family.

Connie leaves her family and friends too soon, but with a lifetime of loving memories and joyful hearts. She would want all of us to live our life to its fullest. When we need her, just whisper her name in our heart, and she will be there.

May we find strength in each other as we both mourn and celebrate the life of a strong, remarkable wife, mother, Nana, and friend. Rest in peace, Mom, knowing that you are loved beyond measure and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing you.
