Darlene Rose Pizor, 69, died peacefully on July 8, 2022, with family by her side.
Darlene was born on March 7, 1953, in Greensburg, PA. She spent her life caring for her family and educating children in faith and music. Generations of young people have fond memories of Sunday school lessons and children’s choir performances led by Darlene, with her kind and loving spirit. She was a positive force in countless lives. Music moved her and she used music to move others. In recent years, she was the quintessential grandmother (“Grammy”) to Luke, her only grandchild. They spent many hours digging in the dirt, baking brownies, learning about birds, and building contraptions to entertain mom, dad and “Grampy.”
Darlene’s hobbies included gardening, puzzles, baking, and a multitude of crafts. She devoted much of her time to her family and church. She was, and will always be, a beacon of benevolence and selflessness – a life well lived, in constant tribute to her faith.
Darlene is survived by her devoted husband, Ron Pizor, of 49 years; sons Mark (Erica Patton) Pizor and Brian (Megan) Pizor; grandson Luke Pizor; and sister Barbara Swick. She is preceded in death by her mother Rachel Swick and father Sylvester Swick.
Darlene was celebrated by immediate family and friends in a small memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Cleveland Clinic Justin T. Roberts Hospice Care Center (Akron, OH) or to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
