David Glenny

STOW -David A. Glenny, 74, passed away at his residence May 6, 2010. He was a wonderful man, great father, loving husband and was loved by everyone who knew him. He was born in Cuyahoga Falls, graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1954 and had resided in Stow the past 32 years. He had owned Glenny Plumbing for 33 years, retiring in 2001 and was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served with the U. S. Marine Corps. He was the 1948 Marble Champion of Ohio at Boys Town and loved bowling, golf and especially his grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his wives, Annette Hopkins and Gloria Glenny, mother and father, Donita and Alex Glenny and brother, Jim Glenny, he is survived by his wife of 28 years, Jan; son, Mark (Phyllis) Glenny of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter, Lori Glenny of Akron; step-children, Russell (Shirley) Watkins of Randolph, Connie Alstott of Cuyahoga Falls, Jack Dorton of Stow, Jerry (Allison) Dorton of Stow, Lisa (Mark) Graziani of Norton and Diana Dorton of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Heather (Dave) Lang, Jonathon Alstott, Jeniffer Glenny, Justin Glenny (Allysa) and Chad Watkins; adopted step-child, Debbie Ruggeiri; brothers and sisters, Marge (Bill) Blocksom, Don (Mary Ann) Glenny, Bonnie (Roger) Claypoole, Al (Mary) Glenny and Diana Tillenger and other extended family.

Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Sunday, May 9 in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 am Monday, May 10 and friends may call for one hour prior to service time. Interment Crown Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society 525 North Broad Street Canfield, OH 44406. Arrangements handled by Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 330-928-2147.
