David C. Gohr

David C. Gohr, 79, of Akron, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2022 surrounded by family.  David was born on February 19, 1943 in Cleveland, OH, son of the late Carl and Ruth Gohr.  He was a graduate of John Carroll University.  David honorably served in the Navy as a CT for 4 years, and went on to work at BP as a Marketing Consultant for 25 years, and later went on to real estate before retiring.  He was active at the First United Methodist Church in Cuyahoga Falls, serving as an usher and helped to establish the Welcome Center.  He enjoyed playing cards, going out to eat with friends, working in the yard, being around his family, and was socially involved with the community.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Flanagan, and brother-in-law, Edward Flanagan; mother and father-in-law, Claire and Paul Hettenbaugh.

He will be dearly missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Susan Gohr; children, Dan (Kathy) Gohr and Kelly (Russell) Myers; grandchildren, Nolan, Allie and Garrett Gohr; brother, Carl (Linda) Gohr; sister-in-law, Pam (Drew) Laurianti; nieces, Victoria (Todd) Miller, Amy (Brian) Schneider, Megan (Courtney) Dolar and Becky (John) Mitchell; nephews, Ken (Amanda), Patrick (Emily), and Brian Flanagan, and numerous extended family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 8, 2022 from 9:30-10:30 am, with a memorial service to follow beginning at 10:30 am, at First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221.  He will be laid to rest at 10 am on Friday, December 9 at Knollwood Cemetery in Cleveland.
