CUYAHOGA FALLS - David Emory Sohn, 85, laid his head on the bosom of Jesus and fell asleep in His arms on January 14, 2009.
A resident of Cuyahoga Falls/Northampton area all of his life, he was a graduate of the University of Akron and a professional Civil Engineer for 55 years in the construction industry. He served in the 9th Army & 9th Air Force during WWII in the European Theater of Operations.
He is survived by his truly beloved wife, Jeanne Marie of 62 years; dearly loved daughters, Wendy Pearson, Debra (Roger) Clarke, and Kathleen (Mike) Kudzia; sisters, Margaret Morris, Phyllis Mayo; grandchildren, Kenneth (Laura) Clarke, Erica (William) Stetson, Allison Jeanne (William) Headlee, Hilary (Matthew) Stojak, Heidi Born, Elizabeth Born, Meredith Jeanne Pearson, David and Rachel Kudzia; great-grandchildren, Claire Marie Stetson, William Sohn Pax Stetson, and David William Headlee. He loved them all from the depth of his heart.
Funeral Services will be held at the Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit, 825 East Buchtel Ave., Akron, OH 44305 on Sunday, January 18 at 6:30 p.m., with calling hours from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private committal at Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors provided by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281.
Memorials may be made to to the Anglican Church of the Holy Spirit, where David was a charter member and Senior Warden.
