David Lee Ullom of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio passed away peacefully at the age of 81 on Monday, April 22, 2024 at Western Reserve Hospital, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio with his family by his side. He was preceded in death by his parents, Irene and Herman Ullom, and his beloved son James D. Ullom.
David is survived by his loving wife Maureen (Mimi), as well as his younger brother Jim Ullom (wife Sherry), and his grandsons, Tyler and Corey Ullom. David and Mimi have always enjoyed taking an active role in their grandsons’ lives, along with their mother Patti.
David went to Garfield High School in Akron, Ohio where he met his beautiful wife of 62 years, Maureen (Mimi) Sullivan. David joined the United States Army and, after his military service, went to night school at the University of Akron while working in the rubber industry. Dave later started his own rubber company in the mid-80’s, ESP/Extruded Silicone Products and Gaskets, LLC, which was the focus of his professional life, and that he continued to manage until his passing.
David was a leader, larger than life, and always liked being in charge. He was known as a problem solver, who often took on difficult and unwanted projects. Known in the industry for his forward thinking in incorporating new methods of manufacturing rubber products and for producing excellent quality rubber products to meet his customers’ needs, he will be greatly missed.
