CUYAHOGA FALLS - Dean M. Strother, 84, passed away September 9, 2007.
Mr. Strother was born in Glendale, CA and served in the Navy in the Pacific on the USS Indianapolis during WWII. He worked as an architect for many years in Los Angeles before moving to Cuyahoga Falls in 1964 where he worked for the Akron Board of Education in their Architectural Department and also for Keith Haag and Associates and John David Jones and Associates. He was a member of the American Institute of Architects, a former member of Kiwanis, the Planning Commission of the City of Cuyahoga Falls and was a member of The Chapel.
Preceded in death by his parents, Robert M. and Elizabeth B. Strother, he is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marilyn; daughter, Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Thompson of Wheaton, IL; son, John Strother of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Peter and Moriah Thompson and Jesse and Roxanne Strother; brother, Meade Strother of Cardiff By The Sea, CA. and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St, Cuyahoga Falls, where a funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Craig Seibert officiating. Final resting place Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281.
