Don Nelsch

Don Nelsch, K8EIW, died February 29, 2024 after a short illness.  Don was born in 1939 in Springfield, Ohio.  Don graduated with the class of ’57 from Cuyahoga Falls High School.  He received a degree in electrical engineering from Ohio Northern University and retired from Ohio Bell with 30 years of service.

Don was always ready to help others. He was a mentor for the Amateur Radio community, a concerned citizen with his service on the Planning Commission. The “go to guy” for people with computer problems and was available to others in need.

Don was married to his wife Karen for nearly 61 years and together they had two wonderful girls who made them very proud: Cindy Oesterling and her terrific, husband Chris, and Kathleen Nelsch and her fabulous husband, Dave Kekish.  The grandchildren Becky and Sarah Oesterling and Meghan and Amy Kekish are successful adults.
