Don L. Robart, Sr. died April 8, 2005. Mr. Robart was born November 26, 1923. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served on the U.S.S. Iowa in World War II. As a member of the Navy Band, Mr. Robart played for the funeral of President Franklin D. Roosevelt. Mr. Robart was a Technical Engineer with Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. He retired in 1982 with 38 years of service. Mr. Robart was a very active drummer, having played in the Kenny Monroe Band as well as others. Mr. Robart spent many years in the Shrine, having also played in the Shrine Band.
Preceded in death by his wife, Grace, left behind to mourn his loss are his sister, Betty Wimer (Harry) of Norton; son, Don Jr. of Cuyahoga Falls; son, Sam (Sharon) of Deltona, FL; daughter, Denise Foto (Jimmy) of Zephyr Hills, FL; son, Dennis (Valerie) of Cuyahoga Falls; daughter, Betty Jane Carroll (Bobby) of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Michael Robart, Dennis Robart, Heather Robart, Jessica Robart and Bobby Carroll. Mr. Robart will be sadly missed by his loving family.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 pm Sunday in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 10:00 am Monday, Rev. Kirk Bruce officiating. Interment Rose Hill Burial Park. A Military Service will be conducted by VFW Ralph Huff Post 1062.
