Donald Richard Albrecht

Cuyahoga Falls – Donald Albrecht, 97, passed away January 6, 2023. Born to loving parents Henry and Gertrude on October 6, 1925. Donald grew up in Akron graduating from Buchtel High School. He worked alongside his father in the family butcher shop- Albrecht’s Quality Market. After a short stint in the U.S. Army, he went on to own a variety of businesses from a potato chip factory to a prepared food distribution company. But his favorite job was working alongside his son in the concrete business, Albrecht and Sons. When not working Don could be found driving one of his classic cars to Sandusky where he would captain his treasured Chris Craft “The Wahini”on Lake Erie. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Gerald Albrecht and wife Mary, sister Doris Wolf and husband Glen, and grandson Jake Albrecht.

He will be profoundly missed by his beloved wife of 43 years Mary Albrecht, adored sons Don Albrecht (Nanette) of Akron and Bobby J Albrecht of the Philippines, stepdaughters Robin Barnby and Dawn Gray. Grandchildren Bobby Albrecht, Donny Albrecht, Tyler “Jack” Barnby, Logan Barnby, Jillian Machamer, Andrea Foldhazi and Summer Kormushoff, along with 8 great grandchildren.

There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday January 21, 2023, from 11am to 12pm with a memorial service to follow at 12pm at the Clifford Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front Street Cuyahoga Falls Ohio 44221.
