Donald Markle

TALLMADGE - Donald W. Markle, 81, fell asleep in the Lord's hands on June 19, 2017.

Born in Akron to Raymond and Phylinda (Hood) Markle on October 13, 1935. Don graduated from West High School in 1953. He worked installing telephone equipment for Western Electric when he met his wife, Margaret who was working as a switchboard operator for Ohio Bell Telephone. In 1958, Don joined the Air Force and married Margaret before leaving Ohio to spend a year and a half in Alaska and two years in Louisiana. In 1967 Don worked on the Pacific Missile Tracking Radars on Kwajalein Island. He enjoyed anything to do with cars especially Mopars and Oldsmobiles. Don was an avid collector of automobilia.

Preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Marie of 56 years; he is survived by his children, Gregory of Tallmadge and Melissa Thomas of Columbus; grandchildren, Sean (Chelsea), Ryan and Mathew; and great-granddaughter, Alayna.

Friends may call from 4-7 PM on Tuesday June 27, 2017 in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 where a funeral service will be held at 11:30 on Wednesday June 28. Pastor Kent Jarvis will be officiating. Interment will be at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
