BATH - Doris M. Bodley (nee Dunn), 87, passed away peacefully at her residence on Feb. 16, 2009 after a long illness. Doris was born in Cuyahoga Falls but had resided in Bath since 1991 having moved there from Medina. She married Arthur Bodley in 1942 and they celebrated 66 years together this past October. Besides raising a family, Doris was an avid bridge player, excellent cook and baker and she played hostess to many wonderful family gatherings and picnics.
Preceded in death by her parents, Andy and Helen Dunn; brother and sister-in-law, Bud and Amy Dunn; she is survived by her loving husband, Arthur; daughters, Sandy Brinkerhoff of Redondo Beach, CA and Sherry (Richard) Murphy of Hendersonville, N.C.; grandchildren, Shay (Kenn) Kurtz and Tom Bingman; great-grandchildren, Kerragan, Kaedin, Kennedy and Keatyn Kurtz; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and George "Bud" Jenkins and Shirley and Sonny Fanelly; brother, Jim Dunn and Bob Seitz; many nieces, nephews and other loving extended family, including dear friends Bob and Marge Jagger.
The family also wishes to express their gratitude to Stojko Selvic and Nedzida Beganovic for their wonderful care and compassion they showed to Doris during her illness, and also the staff from Hospice of Summa.
The family will receive friends Thursday, February 19 from 4:00-7:00 pm in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls OH where a funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 am on Friday, February 20th , Chaplain Mike Shaub officiating. Interment at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Hospice of Summa, PO Box 2090, Akron, OH 44398-6153 or to the Alzheimer's Assn., 1815 W. Market St., Ste 301, Akron, OH 44313-7067.
