STOW- Dorothy Jane "Vicky" Novak was born on Dec. 10, 1924 and died on Oct. 2. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Celia Vicha, and her husband of 56 years, William. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Pamela) of Silver Lake, OH and Kenneth (Ginger) of New Canaan, CT; grandchildren, John, Marnie, and Mary; great grandchildren Marielle and William; and longtime friends, Fred and Olive, Jeanne, and Dale and Ria.
She went to the Cleveland Public Schools and fondly remembered playing and traveling with the band to California. She first worked at Cleveland Trust, stopped to raise her family, and subsequently worked at Berea High School until retirement. Dorothy and her family loved Disney Parks and traveled many times to Florida and California. After retirement, she and Bill traveled to Europe, Canada, and Hawaii.
She will be remembered for her commitment to her sons' educations (Robert, B.S. (Brown), M.D. (Duke); Kenneth, B.A. (Dartmouth), M.B.A. (Stanford)), her generosity to her children and grandchildren, and her extraordinary cookie-baking abilities.

Dorothy's life will be celebrated at Bethany United Church of Christ, 1235 Broad Boulevard, Cuyahoga Falls, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 15. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to The American Heart Association. Services entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home and Crematory, 330-928-2147.
