Dorothy L. Smith

Dorothy (Lake) Smith, 95, Born in Akron, Ohio, August 26, 1928, to Denzil and Mary Susan Lake. Graduated from Garfield High School, June 1946 and retired from Cuyahoga Falls Board of Education as secretary to the W. H. Nicol School of Practical Nursing in 1989.  She accepted the Lord as her Savior and was baptized at the Arlington Street Baptist Church and has been a faithful member of The Chapel for many years.

Preceded in death by her parents, Denzil and Mary Susan Lake; her husband, Jerome C. Smith; son, Jerome G. Smith; grandson, Seth Smith; and her brothers, Charles Grant Lake, Robert Lake and Jack Dale Lake.

She is survived by her son, William C. (Diana) Smith; dear to her heart, grandsons, Richard, Chad (Carian), and granddaughter, Erin (Andrew); great-grandchildren, Kieran, Kalyn, Grant, Hanna, Sydnee, Chad Jr., Ethan, and Finch; She is also survived by her sister, Marilyn of Danville, VA; brother, Richard (Sharon) of Atwater.

Friends may call at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221 from 6pm to 7pm on Wednesday September 27, 2023. Immediately following the calling hours there will be a funeral service also at the funeral home at 7pm. The burial will take place at Hillside Memorial Park on Thursday September 28, 2023 at 11am.
