Earl Robert Kelly

Earl Robert Kelly, 95, passed away March 1, 2025. He was born in Mount Gilead graduating from Mount Gilead High School in 1948. He went on to attend Ashland College for 2 years before enlisting in the U.S. Air Force, serving from July 13, 1951- July 12 1955. After getting out of the service he took a job at Goodyear Research and Development, retiring after 36 years of service. 

He was a longtime Cuyahoga Falls resident, where he was active in the Eagles, where he served as trustee and was a member of the VFW.

Earl was very athletic playing basketball, football and baseball in high school and in the service. Later in life he became an avid golfer. 

Preceded in death by his parents, wife, Thelma and daughter-in-law, Shirley Kelly; he is survived by his children, Pam (Fred) Krompass, Craig Kelly, Claire (Bouakham Hiengphothichack) and Linda (Randy) Talkington; grandchildren, Craig (Sarah) Kelly Jr., Christopher (Jessica) Kelly, Jennifer (Travis) Thatcher, Kelly (Vince) D’Auria, Leann (Nick) Wegner, Lauren Carlson, Rachael Hiengphothichack, Christina Zysek, Toni Rubino, Michael (Marcella) Rubino, Christen Kelly and Allison Groom; 28 great-grandchildren; and previous wife, Martha Stephens, and his favorite niece, Grace Morgan.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 AM on Friday March 7 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where a funeral service will immediately follow at 11 AM.
