Earle W Hanna

Earle W. Hanna, 100, passed away July 12, 2024. Once lost, now found. Eternally thankful! Earle was born to Alonzo and Maude Hanna in Akron. He was in the U.S. Navy for three-plus years (WWII). After several jobs, he worked 41 years at Goodyear Aerospace (Loral, Lockheed Martin). 

He married Phyllis Roberson in 1953 and was the proud dad of Kenneth, Kendra and Kurt. Earle taught his children the value of hard work and family vacations! He was an enthusiastic supporter of all their school activities.

While at Goodyear Aerospace, Earle took part in a lunch time Bible study. This led to teaching Sunday School at the First United Methodist Church of Cuyahoga Falls where he was a member since 1959. When he retired, he and his wife enjoyed traveling with senior bus tours.

On November 21, 2014, Earle and Phyllis moved to Mulberry Gardens Assisted Living in Munroe Falls. Unfortunately, Phyllis passed away the next day. They were married for over 61 years.

Earle was preceded in death by his siblings: Fairy, Edna, Donald and Dorothy, and his son, Kurt. He is survived by his son Ken, daughter Kendra Bunch (Brian), three grandsons and two great grandchildren.

For about seven years, Earle conducted weekly worship services at Mulberry Gardens. This led him to doing eulogies for two of the facility’s residents. He enjoyed getting to know staff members and playing bingo, euchre, and Tri-Ominos with his friends there. Earle and his family greatly appreciate the kindness and compassion shown to him by all the staff at Mulberry Gardens. 

A memorial service will be held on Thursday July 18, 2024 at 11am in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, with visitation an hour before the service. Inurnment will be at Chestnut Hill Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Samaritan’s Purse PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607.
