Edith Jarboe

Stow - Edith A. Jarboe (nee Postlethwaite) passed away August 26, 2009. Mrs. Jarboe was born December 28, 1910 in New Martinsville, WV and resided in Stow for six years. She was a LPN and worked as a private nurse for twenty-five years. She was a member of the Chapel of Prayer Church and had previously belonged to the Akron City Club and the Fairlawn Country Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Jarboe, a prominent attorney, and is survived by her children Nelson (Josephine) Riter of Cuyahoga Falls, Althea Myers of Sarasota, Florida, and Ray (Ruth) Riter of Stow. Also her grandchildren, William Riter, Althea Boley, John Riter (deceased), Debbie Lewis, Anthony Riter, Diane Teague, Steve Riter, James Riter, and Raymond Riter along with seventeen great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be conducted at 1:00 pm Saturday in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls, Rev. Sherman Bailey officiating. Inurnment in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Hospice of Summa, 444 North Main St., P.O. Box 2090, Akron, OH 44398-6153 in her memory.
