CUYAHOGA FALLS -Edith M. Powell, 85, passed away Feb. 8, 2011. Mrs. Powell was born in Cincinnati and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls and Northampton since 1959, moving here from Dallas, TX. She was a member of Northminster Presbyterian Church and enjoyed bridge, her garden club and bingo. She was an active volunteer at her church, at Akron City Hospital and at Rockynol. Edith was a very patriotic woman, very civic minded, served on the Election Board and was dearly devoted to her family.

Preceded in death by her husband, Daniel L. Jr.; daughter, Debbie S. Powell; son, Daniel Lee Powell and sisters and brother, Mae Rose Ralston, Dorothy McInerney, Otto Bielefeld and June Schaeffer, she is survived by her daughters, Vicki L. (Kim) Link of Norton, Connie G. Powell of State College, PA and Cindy L. May of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Michael, Melissa and Kelly Link and Justin, Matthew and Casey May; brother, Bill (Lynn) Bielefeld of Cincinnati and many nieces and nephews.

The Family will greet friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, Feb. 11 in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home 1930 Front St. Cuyahoga Falls where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 am Saturday, Feb. 12, Rev. Stephanie Crossland officiating. Interment Northlawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of other remembrances, memorials may be made to Northminster Presbyterian, 104 W. Portage Tr. Extn, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223 or American Cancer Society, 525 North Broad St., Canfield, OH 44406. Arrangements handled by Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 330-928-2147
